Valentine's Day!

Valentine’s Day!

First off, Ansell got me a cute heart shaped rose. AWWWW!

Anyway, Valentine’s day was more of Valentine’s week due to a special sale at work so I did a Valentines theme for the entire week (excluding Saturday).

This is what my work place looked like:

Valentine’s Meal with Ansell (actually occurred on Wednesday lunchtime)

I bought some adorable heart shaped ravioli at the Eastern Market. The hearts were spinach and pine nuts. The squares were pumpkin and goat cheese.

Charla gave me a relatively easy butter basil sauce recipe to put over it...which of course I screwed up and burnt. Oh well! It still looked and tasted good!

The Look! Of Love
-My main looks were Tuesday through Thursday

Tuesday: The Main Day!

Annette, my boss, bought me some pink fake hair things so I put those in then did a ton of twisty braids and topped it of with a braid.

Egyptian Treasures collection color Royal is the eyeliner. This has become one of my favorite eyeliners, it’s a gorgeous color! Merry Mayhem’s Secret Santa over most of the eye with 12 Pain’s Tree Fire on the inner corner. Glacial Grove’s Brisk was the brow highlight.

The heart is Secret Santa and Royal.

This photo was used on the Izalia Facebook to promote our sale. I like it since it shows off my heart and nails.

Wednesday: I can’t remember at all what I used but I know it included PreNup by Geek Chic.

Thursday: This look is talked about in detail in my post about Meow Cosmetics Glacial Grove Collection.

Nails!

The previous week I had yellow nails with red hearts.

The week of Valentine’s I had different reds with heart glitter.

I'm going to end this love post with Ansell looking at a mutant monster strawberry during our Valentine meal. He's such a romantic!

Meow Collections - 12 Pains

Meow Collections -
12 Pains

This collection struck my funny bone as it’s all the bad stuff associated with Christmas. I loved reading the labels for these colors.

I was so excited for Tree Fire. It looked so beautiful! I also thought Lights Out looked stunning. In-Laws and Burnt Turkey also intrigued me while I thought Black Friday would be great as a liner. This collection excited me the most.

Tree Fire: It turned out a little redder and less orangey than I thought it would but I really like it and it goes well with Calories.

Party Crasher: Nice but not overly original. It’s very similar to other blues I got but it has a touch of seafoam.

In-Laws: This is actually a lighter glitterier (that’s a word!) version of Lights Out. It actually looks really nice paired with Lights Out.

Lights Out: Boy this does not look like its picture. I was expecting a smoky steel blue but instead I got a rich matte periwinkle. It’s very pretty though!

Burnt Turkey: A little bit of a disappointment. I expected it to be golder but it really just comes out brown. I prefer Geek Chic’s “We Are Coming” to this.

Black Friday: Plain glittery black eye shadow that works as a more complex liner than standard black. What I expected and I’m pleased.

This collection did not end up being as exciting as I thought but it had a couple of colors that I like and blending the blues together creates a really nice look.

The Look! Heat Wave Freezer

This creates a nice blue eye and the Tree Fire warms it up.

Lights Out as the upper eye liner and Black Friday as the outer lower liner with Party Crasher on the inside. Lights Out starts on the outside of the eye and blends into In-Laws then Party Crasher. Tree Fire is the brow highlight. I didn’t use Burnt Turkey.

This was the week before Valentine's and my nails were painted awesome in accordance!

Meow Cosmetics - XMAS Trees, Reindeer, and Xmas Ghost

Meow Cosmetics - XMAS Trees, Reindeer, and Xmas Ghost

(All swatch pictures are Without Flash then With Flash)

XMAS Trees

Cypress & Fraser Fir

I don’t normally do straight greens, I stick with blue/greens for the most part but I liked the look of Cypress and Fraser had a bit of teal in it. Arika’s blog was helpful when I picked out the greens because I probably wouldn’t have bought it otherwise. In hindsight I should have bought Pine. Oh well.

Of course I ended up liking Fraser Fir the best because it was darker and bluer. I don’t think I will wear Cypress that much as it doesn’t suit my skin color but it’s nice.

Reindeer

 Blitzen

I only bought Blitzen because it looked so good on Arika’s blog. She complained of regretting not getting enough so I decided to get two samples for myself! I thought Donner looked nice as well but a little plain.

Blitzen is a more of a medium blue than the website picture shows. It has good coverage and the sparkles in it add a nice dimensional. This is an overall good blue.

Xmas Ghost

Frostbite & Winter Coat

Frostbite looked like heaven. Another shade I looked forward to!

Yep, Frostbite was pretty as a light smokey lavender dappled with discreet gold sparkes. However, Winter Coat was surprising by being such a lovely smoky purple that the photos do not do justice to.

All together now!
